Bogdan Iliescu is a seasoned Romanian investment banker with over 20 years of experience in privatizations, mergers and acquisitions (M&A), and capital markets. He began his career at BRD – Groupe Société Générale in 1997, where he led the Corporate Finance Department for nearly a decade, overseeing numerous M&A deals, privatizations, and equity and debt capital market transactions. From 2013 to 2021, he served as an independent and non-executive director for both SNTGN Transgaz SA and Electrica SA, Romania’s leading natural gas and electricity companies, respectively. His notable M&A advisory roles include deals with Eco Euro Doors, ATG Shipyard, and Saint-Gobain, while his capital markets achievements consist of managing significant IPOs and bond issuances for major corporations and the Romanian Ministry of Finance.

Alin Pop has over 20 years of banking experience, having worked and led high performance teams covering M&A, capital markets, syndicated loans, leveraged finance and project finance. He began his career in Raiffeisen Bank and then UniCredit Bank Romania where he was leading the Multinationals/Large Corporates department and later the Investment Banking Division (former CA IB). He also worked for one year as part of the UniCredit London Capital Markets team responsible for Eastern Europe. A CFA Charterholder since 2011, Alin has also completed executive education programs at Harvard Business School and Saïd Business School, University of Oxford. His notable M&A advisory roles include transactions with Saint Gobain, J.C. Flowers & Co., Al Dahra Group, Orange Money, East Grain/Agrofert and UniCredit Bank’s internal acquisitions in Romania, and notable Lending transactions included Syndications for large Oil & Gas, Telekom players or Food & Agri players, as well as leveraged buyout loans for private equity funds (such as Mid Europa Partners, Advent, Innova, Black Sea Fund).

Mihai Chisu is a highly respected specialist in the local capital market with over 20 years of experience in Romanian and international financial markets. He has been instrumental in numerous privatizations, company listings, acquisitions, and public offerings, including major listings like Nuclearelectrica, Electrica, and Transelectrica, raising over EUR 500 million. In 2017, Mihai was appointed as a personal adviser to the Romanian Prime Minister on public offerings and economic issues. From 2018 to 2022, he served on the Council of Shareholders Representatives of SIF Muntenia. Mihai holds a PhD in Economics and Behavioural Finance from the Bucharest University of Economic Studies.

Alina Matache brings over 9 years of experience in transactions and corporate finance to her role at BICF. Having previously worked at PwC Romania in both audit and advisory capacities, she has been involved in over 70 transaction projects across various industries, including financial services, consumer goods, and IT. Alina has also contributed to audits of prominent financial institutions such as insurance companies and banks. She holds a Master of Science in Finance and Banking from the Doctoral School of Finance and Banking (DOFIN) at Bucharest University of Economic Studies, along with a Bachelor’s Degree from the Faculty of Finance, Banking, Insurances, and Stock Exchange (FABBV).

Teodor Rusu brings over 3 years of expertise in transactions and corporate finance. Prior to joining us, he gained experience at PwC Romania’s Advisory department. Teodor has played an integral role in over 10 transactions and financial due diligence projects across diverse industries, including TMT, oil & gas, retail, agriculture, and chemicals, both within Romania and the CEE region. He holds a Bachelor of Science in Mathematics with Statistics for Finance from Imperial College London and is an accredited Advanced Financial Modeler (AFM) with the Financial Modeling Institute since October 2023.

George Dolea has 2 years of experience in transactions and corporate finance to our team at BICF. Prior to joining, he worked at Deloitte Romania, spending over a year in the Audit department where he contributed to over 10 audit projects, with a focus on the financial services sector, including banks and insurance companies. He holds a Bachelor of Science in Economics from the University of Manchester.

Razvan Solomon has over 5 years of experience in transactions, corporate finance, and audit. Before joining the BICF team, he worked within Strategy and Transactions at EY Romania, and Audit & Assurance at Deloitte Romania and PwC Hong Kong. Razvan graduated in Business Administration from the University of Bath and is a Member of the Association of Chartered Certified Accountants in the UK.
